Hospital Costa de la Luz is in a unique, next generation building equipped with the most advanced technology and sustainability-oriented.

During the construction of the 5,000 m2 five-storey building, architect Aurelio Cazenave prioritised functionality and energy savings with two main objectives: the medical staff and patient comfort and environmental protection.

The smallest of details were covered in the project which took into account the opinions and experience of all the professionals who work at the hospital to create a comfortable, pleasant and user-friendly interior.

The use of biomass and solar-powered heating systems and the installation of a noiseless lift prototype, which is pioneer in Spain, enable 10% energy savings and make for an environmentally-friendly building.

A reference in private medicine

The Hospital has focused its efforts on developing specialties and care areas to make it an icon in private medicine in Huelva. The specialists and high technology used make it a reference healthcare centre in gynaecology, breast pathologies, haemodynamics and paediatrics.

Moreover, it is equipped to offer 24-hour emergency care in family medicine as well as gynaecology, paediatrics and traumatology and has a pharmacy in addition to clinical analysis and pathological anatomy laboratories.

Genomics, the integrated management system, has been specifically adapted to the hospital’s needs. For this software, patients are the focus of the application. It is comprised of several specific modules aimed at covering all aspects of hospital management.

The hospital offers the latest in radiodiagnosis technologies. The direct digital system allows for all types of testing with the greatest of reliability and in a short period of time so tests and diagnostics can all be done in one day.

The centre offers CAT scans, mammography, ultrasounds, conventional radiology and haemodynamics.

Gynaecology and Obstetrics Unit

It is designed to offer patients comprehensive gynaecology care, especially pregnancy monitoring and birthing care, led by the Ginemend team. Moreover, the 24-hour gynaecological emergency service guarantee round-the-clock care at facilities that have been designed and equipped to cover today’s demands for comfort and technical precision.

The maternity ward, which also offers 24-hour service, is equipped with the most advanced technology to deliver as of the 32nd week of gestation.

Haemodynamics Units

It includes diagnostics using invasive techniques to record the most important parameters of the cardiovascular system such as pressures, volumes and correct anatomy in each patient to provide an exact diagnosis in order to begin the best therapies for different pathologies.

This unit is equipped with the most advanced technology to perform catheterizations, valvuloplasties, angiographies, coronaries, angioplasties and coronary stents, atherectomies, endomyocardial biopsies and peripheral angiograms.

Neonatal ICU

Hospital Costa de la Luz is the first private medicine centre in Huelva to have a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, with the most advanced resources and a top-level team of experts to be able to deliver babies as of the 28th week of gestation. Babies are cared for by neonatologists and paediatricians from their very first moments of life

Breast Care Unit

Closely connected to the Women’s Health Unit and Oncology Unit, the Breast Care Unit will offer the possibility of complete studies in just one day to streamline diagnostics, thereby reducing the uncertainty time.

Paediatrics Unit

Medical care for newborns, children and adolescents will be comprehensive, continuous and accessible to establish relationships of responsibility and trust between doctors and parents.

The hospital is equipped with a specialised unit that is directed by the Seville Paediatrics Institute to monitor children from gestation to adolescence, providing foetal assessment and prenatal diagnostics, newborn care, well-child check-ups and vaccine control.


Hospital Costa de la Luz is the first private medicine centre in Huelva to have an Intensive Care Unit. The most advanced resources and a top-level team of experts have been dedicated to it.

Moreover, the ICU features a Coronary Unit that was especially created to care for patients admitted for acute heart attacks, which account for around 25% of all admissions in this unit.
